Accountant

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain financial records related to property transactions, lease agreements, and asset management.

• Reconcile bank statements and ensure proper allocation of revenue and expenses.

• Handle accounts payable and receivable, and process rent collections and property expenses.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.

• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for real estate operations and development projects.

• Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and company accounting policies.

• Coordinate with property managers, leasing teams, and external auditors as needed.

• Support the preparation of tax filings, audits, and other regulatory requirements.

• Manage fixed asset schedules and depreciation for real estate holdings.

• Monitor loan payments, interest accruals, and covenant compliance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).

• 2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate or property management.

• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Yardi, QuickBooks, MRI, AppFolio).

• Strong understanding of lease accounting, real estate taxes, and depreciation.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to communicate financial data clearly to non-finance stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with real estate development or construction accounting.

• Knowledge of REITs and real estate fund accounting (if applicable).

• Familiarity with 1031 exchanges, property acquisitions/dispositions, and cost segregation.
