Job Description: Purchase Engineer
Location: Pune
Experience: 2-3 years in construction industry
Education: Engineering preferred; Commerce graduates will also be considered
Languages: Proficiency in English, Marathi and Hindi is a must (knowledge of Kannada or any other languages is a plus)
Work Timings: 9 AM–6 PM (flexibility required for industry demands)
Working Days: Monday to Saturday

Role Overview:
The Purchase Engineer will play a pivotal role in sourcing, negotiating, and procuring high-quality materials required for construction projects. This individual will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, ensuring the timely delivery of materials and maintaining cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
1.Material Procurement & Quality Assurance:
a.Procure construction materials like cement, steel, sand, and finishing products (e.g., doors, windows) within targeted budgets while upholding quality standards.
b.Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to secure the best payment terms and delivery schedules.
2.Supplier & Vendor Management:
a.Negotiate contracts and build trust with vendors, showcasing the company's reliability and commitment to timely payments.
b.Monitor market trends to ensure competitive rates and maintain a preferred supplier list.
3.Project Coordination:
a.Manage procurement for 3-4 ongoing construction projects simultaneously.
b.Ensure timely and seamless delivery of materials to project sites.
4.Systemization & Process Improvement:
a.Establish efficient procurement systems, including purchase orders, agreements, and inventory management.
b.Research and implement relevant tools or software to streamline operations.
5.Team Collaboration & Growth:
a.Foster a strong team dynamic in a family-oriented company culture.
b.Mentor and lead as the team grows, with a clear progression path to team leadership.
6.Fieldwork & Inspections:
a.Occasionally visit suppliers to inspect materials and finalize procurement deals.

Qualifications & Skills:
Industry Experience: Prior experience in construction procurement is preferred; candidates from related industries with relevant skills may also apply.
Technical Knowledge:
oUnderstanding of construction materials and specifications.
oAbility to negotiate effectively and manage contracts.

Training: Comprehensive 3-6 months training on company-specific processes will be provided.
