Electrician

1. Determine the existence of electrical hazards and problems. Safely isolate, ground, and prepare circuits and electrical apparatus to enable repairs.

2. Have knowledge of and use the required personal protective equipment to protect against arc flash and shock.

3. Troubleshoot and maintain motor control centers, motor start circuits, control loops, generators, high voltage switch gear, protective relaying, and related equipment.

4. Install electrical conduit, pull and terminate wiring.

5. Use hand and power tools related to the electrical trades.

6. Install and maintain control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays, circuit breakers, and control panels.

7. Install and maintain drive systems such as variable frequency drives, eddy current, and DC drives. Observe installed systems to detect hazards and determine the need for adjustments or modifications.

8. Design layout work on panels, set up complex control systems, interpret and alter engineering drawings and wiring diagrams.

9. Repair or replace faulty electrical equipment, including electronic controls, meters, outlets, and panels.

10. Observe safe work practices and ensure work does not endanger others.

11. Perform other duties as required.
