Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Sales Officer located in Surat. The Sales Officer will be responsible for customer service, lead generation, communication, sales operations, and channel sales in the automotive lubricants market. The role will involve building and maintaining relationships with clients, generating leads, managing sales operations, and driving channel sales growth.
Purpose of the job
· Sales and collection responsibility of range of products for a given territory.
· Set of customers – objective being to achieve the company set Targets for the designated territory/set of customers.
Key Ares of Responsibilities
· Identify business opportunities and target markets
· Make initial customer contact through visits or calls
· Planning and organizing customer visits
· Identify each potential customer’s needs
· Formulate business proposals according to customers’ business needs
· Negotiate prices and variations in prices and specifications
· Manage account management and expansion activities
· Develop new opportunities & existing customers.
· Build meaningful relationships within the company and outside
· Develop detailed territory plans
· Ensure appropriate and timely delivery of service and products
· Follow up on service and / or product once the delivery has been made
· Research market trends and products
· Arrange meetings with potential clients
· Challenge objections to get the customer to buy a product
· Liaise with internal departments to ensure appropriate product delivery
· Check quantity and quality of products prior to delivery
· Record sales information and maintain customers’ records
· Make rapid calculations of costs to provide temporary quotations
· Prepare sales reports by analyzing and summarizing information
· Review self-sales performance with a view to improve it
· Report competitor activities, their promotion plans, prices, etc.
Qualifications / Experience
· A college degree / diploma in engineering with a minimum of 2 – 4 years industrial sales experience.
· Automotive & Oil after-market or related industry experience is a plus.
· Technology affinity is desirable and basic knowledge of automobile & Oil industry along with a familiarity with the automotive after-market environment is preferred.
· Post Graduation in Marketing or Management
Skills / Competencies
· Good communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
· Good computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook).
· Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
· Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
