Key Responsibilities:
1. Client Consultation:
o Meet with clients to understand their design preferences, requirements, budget, and any space-specific needs.
o Offer expert advice on design concepts, color schemes, layouts, and materials.
2. Design Development:
o Create floor plans, design concepts, and layouts for interior spaces.
o Develop mood boards and presentations to communicate design ideas to clients.
o Select and recommend furnishings, fixtures, lighting, color schemes, and other decor elements.
3. Space Planning:
o Optimize the use of space by designing layouts that enhance functionality and flow.
o Ensure that the designs comply with local building codes and regulations.
4. Material and Product Selection:
o Research and select materials, furniture, flooring, and finishes that align with the design vision and client preferences.
o Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of trends, suppliers, and innovations in interior design.
5. Project Coordination:
o Work with contractors, suppliers, and other professionals to ensure that designs are executed according to specifications and timelines.
o Oversee the installation of design elements and furnishings.
o Conduct site visits to ensure quality control and troubleshoot issues during implementation.
6. Budget Management:
o Prepare cost estimates for projects and manage the design budget.
o Negotiate with suppliers and contractors to get the best value while staying within budget.
7. Presentation and Reporting:
o Create detailed design proposals, including sketches, CAD drawings, and 3D renderings.
o Present design concepts and revisions to clients for approval.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Education: A degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field is typically required.
• Experience: Previous experience in interior design, especially in Industrial, residential or commercial projects, is highly desirable. Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite) is often expected.
• Skills:
o Strong aesthetic and creative abilities.
o Excellent communication and client management skills.
o Proficient in space planning, design principles, and technical aspects of design.
o Knowledge of design software (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, etc.).
o Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Work Environment:
• Typically works in an office setting, but may also visit client sites for consultation and oversight.
• May require working on multiple projects simultaneously and managing deadlines.
Working Hours:
• Standard working hours are typically Monday to Saturday, 10 AM to 7 PM, but may vary depending on client needs or project deadlines.
