Minimum Qualification
A degree or diploma in Engineering or Technology with a specialization or additional qualification in Industrial Safety. Or A Diploma in Industrial Safety from a recognized institute approved by the Directorate General Factory Advice Service and Labour Institutes (DGFASLI), Government of India.
Certification
Completion of a certified Safety Officer course recognized by DGFASLI or a state labour department is mandatory.
Certifications like NEBOSH IGC, IOSH Managing Safely, or OSHA standards may add value but are not mandatory under Indian regulations.

Roles & Responsibilities
Develop Safety Policies:
Formulate and update safety protocols, policies, and guidelines.
Conduct Training:
Organize training sessions for employees on safety procedures and practices.
Risk Assessment:
Identify potential hazards and conduct risk assessments.
Incident Investigation:
Investigate workplace accidents and near-misses to determine root causes.
Compliance:
Ensure the organization complies with local, state, and national safety regulations.
Safety Audits:
Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to monitor compliance.
Report Generation:
Prepare and submit safety reports to management and relevant authorities.
Emergency Preparedness:
Develop and oversee emergency response plans, including fire drills and evacuation procedures.
Equipment Monitoring:
Ensure safety equipment is well-maintained and accessible.
Collaboration:
Work closely with department heads and workers to create a culture of safety.
Worker Monitoring:
Ensure all the workers are wearing all the required safety equipment’s.
