Core Responsibilities:
Diagnosis and Repair:
· Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to accurately diagnose issues.
· Repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts.
· Fix leaks and other problems.
· Perform routine maintenance tasks like changing fluids, lubricating parts, and rotating tires.
· Use diagnostic equipment to identify problems.
· Assist other technicians and supervise their work.
Maintenance and Servicing:
Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, fluid level checks, and tire rotations.
· Repair or replace worn parts, like brake pads, wheel bearings, and sensors.
Customer Interaction:
· Explain automotive problems and repairs to clients.
· Provide accurate estimates for repairs or maintenance.
· Advise motorists on good vehicle use.
Record Keeping and Documentation:
· Keep logs on work and issues.
· Document the condition of a vehicle at the point of intake.
· Report the condition of vehicle parts.
· Keep detailed logs of all parts, fluids, and hours associated with each project.
Tools and Equipment:
Maintain tools and equipment in good condition.
· Understand and use various tools and equipment for diagnosing and repairing vehicles.
Safety and Compliance:
Thorough knowledge of relevant safety guidelines.
Follow all company procedures and protocols.
· Ensure vehicles are safely and securely positioned on lifts for diagnostics.
Other:
· Attend manufacturer-specific training classes.
· Keep supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipts.
· Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
