Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer to oversee the maintenance, repair, and continuous improvement of mechanical and electrical systems in our solid waste processing and recycling facilities. The ideal candidate will ensure that all equipment operates efficiently, safely, and in compliance with environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, schedule, and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance for solid waste equipment including conveyors, compactors, shredders, balers, incinerators, and leachate treatment systems.
Resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues across waste management infrastructure.
Collaborate with operations teams to reduce equipment downtime and improve reliability.
Ensure adherence to safety and environmental compliance standards.
Support installation and commissioning of new equipment and retrofitting of existing systems.
Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and contractors for maintenance services and spare parts.
Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for maintenance tasks.
Work Independently & knowledge of Welder(ARC,MIg,TIG) & Fitter
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or related field.
3+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in the solid waste, recycling, or utilities industry.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical systems, PLCs, and hydraulic equipment.
Working knowledge of HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) practices.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage teams under pressure.
Preferred:
Experience in solid waste management, MRF (Material Recovery Facilities), RDF (Refuse-Derived Fuel) plants, or waste-to-energy systems.
Certifications in maintenance or safety (e.g., OSHA, TPM, Six Sigma) are a plus
