Job Summary: The Cargo Executive (Operations) is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of cargo handling, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods, coordinating with various departments, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. The role involves managing cargo documentation, customs clearance, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Cargo Handling & Coordination:
Oversee the handling, storage, and transportation of cargo from origin to destination.
Coordinate with airlines, shipping companies, and ground services for the smooth movement of cargo.
Ensure the accurate and timely loading/unloading of goods.
Documentation & Reporting:
Ensure all cargo-related documents (air waybills, shipping instructions, bills of lading) are accurately prepared and processed.
Maintain detailed records of cargo movements and assist in generating operational reports.
Coordinate with the customs department for the clearance of goods.
Customer Service:
Liaise with clients to provide updates on cargo status and address any concerns or issues.
Ensure that cargo is delivered to clients in a timely and safe manner.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure that all cargo handling activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements (e.g., customs, safety, and security).
Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Problem Resolution:
Address and resolve any issues or delays related to cargo transportation or handling.
Work with internal teams to identify and implement improvements in operations.
Inventory Management:
Assist in inventory management, ensuring proper stock levels of cargo-related equipment and materials.
Ensure cargo is properly stored and tracked.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with other departments, such as sales, customer service, and warehouse teams, to ensure seamless operations.
Train and supervise junior staff as required.
Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in logistics, transportation, or a related field.
Experience in cargo operations, freight forwarding, or logistics is preferred.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of customs procedures, air/sea freight regulations, and cargo safety standards.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and cargo management software.
Working Conditions:
The role may require working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
Some travel may be required depending on the nature of the cargo and operational needs.
