Job Overview:The Import Executive will be responsible for managing the end-to-end process of importing goods from international suppliers to ensure the timely and cost-efficient delivery of products. The role includes coordinating with suppliers, managing import documentation, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, and facilitating smooth customs clearance.
Key Responsibilities:Import Documentation Management:
Prepare and process all necessary import documentation such as commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and certificates of origin.
Ensure that all documentation complies with legal and company requirements.
Customs Clearance:
Liaise with customs brokers to ensure smooth and timely clearance of goods.
Ensure compliance with customs regulations, tariffs, and import restrictions.
Supplier Coordination:
Communicate regularly with international suppliers to confirm order status, delivery schedules, and any issues that may arise during the import process.
Resolve discrepancies between suppliers and internal departments regarding product shipments.
Logistics Coordination:
Work closely with freight forwarders and transporters to arrange the best mode of transport.
Track and monitor shipments, ensuring timely delivery to the warehouse or designated location.
Inventory Management:
Maintain an updated record of imported goods.
Support warehouse teams with stock planning and inventory control.
Compliance & Regulation Adherence:
Stay updated with international trade regulations and ensure compliance with all legal requirements related to imports.
Monitor the adherence to quality and safety standards for imported goods.
Cost Management:
Optimize costs related to shipping, customs, and other logistics services.
Prepare cost estimates for imported goods, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of all import activities and prepare regular reports for management on import progress, costs, and any challenges encountered.
Qualifications:Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, International Trade, or a related field.
Experience:
At least 2-3 years of experience in import/export, logistics, or supply chain management.
Knowledge of international shipping terms and procedures (Incoterms, customs regulations, etc.).
Skills:
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Proficient in using ERP systems, MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), and logistics management software.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
