Job Title – Traffic and Transportation Co-Ordinator
Location - Mumbai

About the role:
Oversees the entire transportation operation, including planning, routing, and monitoring. 

Job Responsibilities:

·        Develop and optimize transportation plans and routes, considering factors like distance, time, traffic conditions, and cost.

·        Plan and coordinate the flow of traffic to ensure smooth movement on public roads, highways.

·        Maximize fleet utilization by optimizing vehicle allocation, and implementing efficient route planning to improve overall operational efficiency.

·        Monitor and identify potential delays or issues.

·        Manage traffic-related incidents, accidents, or disruptions, ensuring that resources are deployed swiftly and efficiently to resolve issues and restore normal traffic flow

·        Ensure all traffic operations comply with local, state, and federal transportation regulations, including vehicle regulations, traffic laws, and environmental standards.

·        Prepare and maintain records of compliance audits, inspections, and traffic-related permits

·        Coordinate with drivers and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.

·        Negotiate with transportation providers to secure favorable rates.

·        Collaborate with local government agencies, transit authorities, and contractors for effective traffic management solutions.

Qualification and Skills:

·        Bachelor's degree in any stream. Any other education in logistics, supply chain management, transportation, or a related field will be an add on advantage.

·        Min 5 years of relevant experience in transportation or logistics management is essential. 

·        Thorough understanding of transportation regulations, safety standards, and best practices. 

·        Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

·        Strong communication skills to liaising with clients, stakeholder and internal team

·        Candidate preferred from Transportation Industry

·        Willingness to travel for client visits when needed


Manpower Management:
• Recruit and train staff for the Traffic Department.
• Supervise and oversee daily workflows, schedules, and assignments within the Traffic Department.
• Collaborate with other department managers to develop and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives for transportation operations.

·        Resource Management:
• Identify and establish relationships with brokers, negotiating and determining the most cost-effective routes.
• Develop and build connections with new brokers to expand the network.

·        Maintenance and Management:
• Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the Traffic Department.
• Monitor vehicle dispatch routing and tracking.
• Oversee vehicle maintenance and repair activities.
• Train staff on Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) protocols and audit safety practices.
• Ensure that traffic personnel understand and meet customer requirements.
• Prepare and maintain Management Information System (MIS) reports.

·        Budgeting & Cost Management:
• Analyze hiring and purchasing cost variables versus selling cost.
• Identify strategies to reduce purchase costs.
• Reconcile accounts for all brokers.

·        This role requires a skilled and experienced individual capable of leading traffic operations efficiently while maintaining high standards in safety, cost management, and customer service.
