Key Responsibilities

Perform blood draws from patients in their homes.

Prepare equipment and materials needed for blood collection.

Ensure strict adherence to safety and infection control protocols.

Identify and assess appropriate veins for blood collection.

Label and document samples accurately for laboratory analysis.

Provide patients with clear instructions before and after the procedure.

Monitor and manage patient comfort throughout the blood collection process.

Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the patient's home.

Communicate with patients to address any concerns and provide reassurance.

Work collaboratively with laboratory staff to ensure timely testing.

Transport blood samples to the laboratory following established guidelines.

Complete all required documentation and reports related to home visits.

Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

Attend training sessions to stay current with phlebotomy techniques.

Assist with patient scheduling and coordination of home visits.
