We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Kitchen Helper specializing in North Indian Cuisine to join our kitchen team. As a Kitchen Helper, you will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen's operations, assisting with food preparation, and learning from experienced chefs. This position is ideal for someone passionate about cooking and eager to develop their skills in a professional environment.
Key Responsibilities:Food Preparation:
Assist in the preparation and cooking of dishes in the North Indian section, including appetizers, main courses, and desserts.
Perform basic tasks such as chopping, slicing, marinating, and assembling ingredients.
Follow recipes and instructions from senior chefs to ensure consistency in quality and presentation.
Measure and prepare ingredients accurately as per portion guidelines.
Kitchen Support:
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstations and storage areas.
Assist with stock rotation and inventory management, ensuring ingredients are fresh and properly stored.
Set up and prepare the kitchen before service and assist with closing duties after service.
Support the Chef de Partie and Demi Chef de Partie in completing daily kitchen tasks.
Hygiene and Safety:
Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
Ensure all food handling, preparation, and storage meet HACCP guidelines.
Maintain a clean and sanitized kitchen environment, including equipment and tools.
Follow health and safety regulations to prevent accidents and hazards.
Learning and Development:
Learn and develop skills in Continental cooking techniques, plating, and presentation.
Seek feedback and guidance from senior chefs to enhance culinary knowledge and performance.
Stay updated on trends and innovations in Continental cuisine.
Key Skills and Requirements:
Basic knowledge of Indian cooking methods, ingredients, and techniques.
Previous experience as a kitchen helper or commis chef is preferred but not mandatory.
A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and the ability to work in a team.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Culinary certification or diploma is an advantage but not required.
Basic knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards.
