Prepare and maintain financial records related to property transactions, lease agreements, and asset management.
Reconcile bank statements and ensure proper allocation of revenue and expenses.
Handle accounts payable and receivable, and process rent collections and property expenses.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for real estate operations and development projects.
Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and company accounting policies.
Coordinate with property managers, leasing teams, and external auditors as needed.
Support the preparation of tax filings, audits, and other regulatory requirements.
Manage fixed asset schedules and depreciation for real estate holdings.
Monitor loan payments, interest accruals, and covenant compliance.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate or property management.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Yardi, QuickBooks, MRI, AppFolio).
Strong understanding of lease accounting, real estate taxes, and depreciation.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to communicate financial data clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
Experience with real estate development or construction accounting.
Knowledge of REITs and real estate fund accounting (if applicable).
Familiarity with 1031 exchanges, property acquisitions/dispositions, and cost segregation.
