Financial Reporting & Analysis:
Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Conduct monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes to ensure timely reporting.
Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to management regarding cost control, budgeting, and financial performance.
Accounts Payable & Receivable:
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including overseeing payments and collections.
Reconcile vendor statements and ensure timely payments of all invoices.
Review and process expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.
General Ledger Maintenance:
Ensure that all financial transactions are accurately recorded in the general ledger.
Post journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
Tax Compliance & Reporting:
Assist in the preparation of tax returns (GST, VAT, corporate tax, etc.) and ensure timely filing.
Stay updated with relevant tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
Internal Controls & Compliance:
Support the implementation of accounting procedures and internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry regulations.
Assist in the preparation for external audits, providing necessary documentation and reports.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
Assist with the development of budgets and forecasts, providing analysis of variances and recommendations for corrective action.
Monitor the financial performance of various departments and provide feedback to department heads.
Team Supervision & Mentorship:
Supervise junior accounting staff and provide guidance on accounting best practices.
Conduct performance reviews and contribute to the professional development of team members.
Ad hoc Financial Projects:
Work on special accounting or financial projects as required by senior management.
Support system implementations and process improvements within the accounting department.
