Service Engineer - Genset Industry

Job Overview:

The Service Technician is responsible for performing diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on generator sets/engines to ensure they are operating efficiently and reliably. This role involves both fieldwork at customer sites and shop work at the service centre.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Diagnostics and Troubleshooting:

   • Perform diagnostic tests on generators to identify mechanical and electrical issues.

2. Repairs and Maintenance:

   • Conduct routine maintenance on gensets, including oil changes, filter replacements, and coolant checks.

   • Repair or replace faulty components such as alternators, starters, fuel systems, and control panels.

3. Installation and Commissioning:

   • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new gensets at customer sites.

   • Ensure proper setup, calibration, and functioning of all components.

4. Customer Service:

   • Interact with customers to explain repair and maintenance work.

   • Provide recommendations on generator upkeep and answer technical questions.

   • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by delivering quality service and support.

5. Documentation and Reporting:

   • Maintain detailed records of all service work performed.

Required Qualifications:

• Basic Requirements &Education:

  • ITI in electrical or mechanic motor vehicle

  • Understanding of electrical and mechanical basic concepts.

  • Good learner.

• Experience:

  • 0 to 2 years of experience in maintenance and repair of generator sets/engines or similar heavy equipment.

  • Experience with both mechanical and electrical systems.

• Skills:

  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
