Service Engineer - Genset Industry
Job Overview:
The Service Technician is responsible for performing diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on generator sets/engines to ensure they are operating efficiently and reliably. This role involves both fieldwork at customer sites and shop work at the service centre.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnostics and Troubleshooting:
Perform diagnostic tests on generators to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
Repairs and Maintenance:
Conduct routine maintenance on gensets, including oil changes, filter replacements, and coolant checks.
Repair or replace faulty components such as alternators, starters, fuel systems, and control panels.
Installation and Commissioning:
Assist in the installation and commissioning of new gensets at customer sites.
Ensure proper setup, calibration, and functioning of all components.
Customer Service:
Interact with customers to explain repair and maintenance work.
Provide recommendations on generator upkeep and answer technical questions.
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by delivering quality service and support.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain detailed records of all service work performed.
Required Qualifications:
Basic Requirements &Education:
ITI in electrical or mechanic motor vehicle
Understanding of electrical and mechanical basic concepts.
Good learner.
Experience:
0 to 2 years of experience in maintenance and repair of generator sets/engines or similar heavy equipment.
Experience with both mechanical and electrical systems.
Skills:
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
