Job Description:
Basic Brown, a leading retailer of millet-based FMCG products, is looking for an experienced Sales Manager to oversee and drive the sales team’s activities in Chennai. The Sales Manager will be responsible for managing sales executives, ensuring targets are met, and coordinating all sales efforts with a focus on supermarkets, modern trade outlets, and grocery stores. This role will involve monitoring and guiding sales staff to ensure the effective promotion and sale of our millet products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the sales team, ensuring they achieve daily and monthly sales targets.
- Monitor the team’s activities, including visits to supermarkets, modern trade stores, and grocery outlets to promote and sell millet products.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to expand market penetration and improve product placement.
- Provide ongoing training, guidance, and support to the sales team.
- Review daily sales reports and provide feedback to ensure consistent performance improvement.
- Work closely with retail partners to enhance relationships and identify opportunities for growth.
- Ensure effective stock management and placement at retail locations.
- Monitor competitors and market trends to ensure Basic Brown remains competitive.
- Regularly report to senior management on sales performance and suggest improvements.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3-4 years of experience in sales management within the FMCG sector, preferably with experience in millets or similar products.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of the Chennai market, especially supermarkets and grocery outlets.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be based in or near Chennai.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet sales targets.
- Willingness to travel locally for store visits and market analysis.
