The Housekeeping Attendant is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of guest rooms, public areas, and other hotel facilities to ensure guests’ comfort and satisfaction. This position plays a key role in upholding the hotel’s standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Room Cleaning:
Clean, sanitize, and prepare guest rooms according to hotel standards, including making beds, changing linens, dusting, vacuuming, and replenishing amenities (toiletries, towels, etc.).
Ensure all guest room fixtures and equipment are in good working condition. Report maintenance issues to the supervisor.
Restock and maintain housekeeping cart with necessary supplies.
Perform deep cleaning tasks as assigned (e.g., carpet cleaning, window washing).
Public Area Maintenance:
Clean and maintain public spaces such as lobbies, hallways, elevators, restrooms, and meeting rooms.
Ensure public areas are well-stocked with supplies, such as tissues, soap, and paper towels.
Laundry Management:
Collect, sort, and distribute linens and towels for laundry services.
Fold and store clean linens in designated storage areas.
Guest Requests:
Respond promptly and courteously to any guest requests for extra amenities, towels, or other housekeeping-related services.
Report guest concerns or issues to the supervisor for follow-up.
Health and Safety Compliance:
Follow all health, safety, and hygiene procedures in line with hotel standards.
Use cleaning chemicals and equipment in a safe and proper manner, adhering to safety protocols.
Ensure all areas meet the hotel’s sanitation standards and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous housekeeping experience in a hotel environment preferred but not required.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Attention to detail and ability to maintain high cleanliness standards.
Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy items as required.
Basic communication skills and ability to understand and follow instructions.
Working Conditions:
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical activity including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and pushing.
