Machine Operation:
Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines (mills, lathes, routers, etc.) to produce parts and components based on detailed specifications.
Follow detailed work instructions, blueprints, or CAD models to ensure accuracy.
Load raw materials into machines and ensure proper alignment and secure mounting.
Quality Control:
Measure and inspect completed parts for dimensional accuracy using precision instruments like calipers, micrometers, and CMM (coordinate measuring machine).
Monitor machine output for defects, adjust machine settings or tooling as needed.
Maintain high standards for product quality, ensuring parts are produced within specified tolerances.
Machine Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning machines, changing tools, and lubricating moving parts.
Troubleshoot minor machine issues and make necessary adjustments to ensure continuous operation.
Report major machine malfunctions to the maintenance team for repair.
Production Monitoring:
Monitor machine performance, including cycle times, to ensure efficient production.
Adjust machine speeds, feeds, and tool settings to optimize production quality and efficiency.
Work to minimize machine downtime and material waste.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of production runs, including part numbers, quantities produced, and any machine issues or adjustments.
Report daily production status, scrap rates, and material usage to supervisors.
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Follow proper lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures during machine maintenance.
Ensure compliance with company standards, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
Collaboration:
Work closely with the CNC Programmers, Engineers, and other team members to address production challenges.
Participate in team meetings to provide input on process improvements and quality assurance.
