The Night Shift Security Guard is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the hostel premises, residents, and staff during nighttime hours. This role requires vigilance, patrolling, monitoring surveillance systems, and responding to any security threats or emergencies.
Conduct regular patrols of the hostel premises, including common areas, hallways, and entry points
Ensure all entry and exit points are secured to prevent unauthorized access.
2. Incident Response & Emergency Handling:
Respond immediately to alarms, disturbances, or suspicious activities.
Handle emergency situations such as medical incidents, fire alarms, or security breaches.
Contact emergency services (police, fire department, or medical personnel) when needed.
Ensure hostel policies regarding curfews, noise levels, and resident conduct are followed.
Monitor for illegal activities, substance abuse, or disturbances.
De-escalate conflicts and report any misconduct to hostel management.
Record security incidents, suspicious activities, and any rule violations in a nightly log.
Communicate important updates to the hostel management.
Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field is an advantage.
Basic knowledge of first aid and emergency response procedures.
Physically fit and able to perform duties such as patrolling and standing for extended periods.
Must be able to work night shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
Night shifts may require working alone or with minimal supervision.
Potential interaction with a diverse group of residents, including students, travelers, or long-term tenants.
Age above 50 years
