An Executive (Cargo) collaborates with airlines to determine their cargo shipment requirements and updates Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to reflect new international regulations and air laws. The role entails evaluating warehousing standards and storage plans to ensure their compliance with SOPs, developing action plans to prevent recurrence of safety and security issues, and managing major operations involving hazardous materials and dangerous goods. The individual is accountable for manpower deployment and developing on-the-job training programmes and workplace learning plans. In addition to a sound knowledge of cargo handling procedures, this Executive stays up to date with international airfreight regulations and the organisation's safety regulations and practices. Excellent communication skills, strong people and clientele management skills, the ability to handle problems, and resourcefulness are key attributes needed for the role. The individual must also be able to work under pressure and multitask well.
