The Logistics Operation Executive is responsible for managing and overseeing the entire supply chain process, ensuring the efficient movement of goods and products. This role involves coordinating logistics activities, managing relationships with suppliers and vendors, and ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of goods while optimizing costs.
Supply Chain Coordination:
Plan, coordinate, and monitor the entire supply chain process, including transportation, inventory, and warehousing.
Oversee the flow of goods from suppliers to distribution centers, and ultimately to customers.
Transportation Management:
Select and manage transport carriers for shipments and ensure the best routes and shipping methods are used.
Ensure compliance with relevant transportation laws and regulations.
Track and monitor shipments to guarantee timely delivery and resolve any transportation issues.
Inventory Management:
Monitor inventory levels and order stock when needed.
Work with warehouse teams to ensure the proper storage and handling of goods.
Ensure accurate inventory reporting and manage stock discrepancies.
Vendor and Supplier Coordination:
Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure smooth operations.
Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers and service providers.
Communicate effectively with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and address any issues.
Operational Efficiency:
Implement and optimize logistics processes to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
Track performance metrics (KPIs) and use data analysis to improve service levels and operational efficiency.
Develop and maintain contingency plans to address potential disruptions in the supply chain.
Compliance and Documentation:
Ensure all logistics activities comply with legal requirements, company policies, and industry standards.
Prepare and manage relevant documentation such as shipping orders, bills of lading, import/export documentation, etc.
Problem Solving:
Identify and resolve any logistics-related issues, including delivery delays, damage claims, or inventory discrepancies.
Proactively mitigate risks in the supply chain process.
Reporting and Communication:
Provide regular reports on logistics performance to management.
Communicate effectively with internal teams (such as sales and customer service) to address customer requirements and resolve issues.
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
Experience in logistics or supply chain management, preferably in a similar industry.
Strong knowledge of logistics software, ERP systems, and transportation management systems (TMS).
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to analyze and interpret data to make informed decisions.
Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory requirements in logistics and transportation.
This role may involve working in both office settings and warehouse environments.
Occasional travel may be required to meet with suppliers, vendors, or customers.
