Logistics Supervisor

A logistics supervisor is a professional who plans, organizes, and oversees the movement of goods and materials within a company. They monitor and manage day-to-day logistics activities, such as scheduling deliveries, troubleshooting delivery issues, and optimizing order fulfilment.

Responsibilities of a Logistics Supervisor

• Set up shipping and distribution networks according to customer needs and business strategies.

• Develop profitable and efficient delivery routes.

• Negotiate deals with third-party distribution centres, couriers, and transportation suppliers.

• Manage inventory levels and merchandise flow, as well as create processes to improve visibility and accuracy.

• Monitor inventory levels, forecast demand and mix optimization to ensure proper stock levels.

• Review invoices, dispute discrepancies, and authorize payments.

• Maintain knowledge of compliance policies and processes.

• Ensure adherence to safety regulations and government policies.

• Liaise with dispatch, warehouse, customer service, and other departments.

Logistics Supervisor Requirements & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field or equivalent work experience.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently.

• Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.

• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Knowledge of logistics and supply chain principles.

• Familiarity with modern transportation technologies, Like TMS, GPS, and the Internet of Things.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Flexible schedule availability.
