The Staff Nurse plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality nursing care to patients with ophthalmic conditions. Responsibilities encompass pre-operative assessments, intraoperative assistance, post-operative care, and patient education, ensuring optimal outcomes and patient satisfaction.
Patient Care: Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing eye surgeries and treatments, including administering medications and monitoring vital signs.
Surgical Assistance: Assist ophthalmologists during procedures by preparing surgical instruments, maintaining aseptic conditions, and ensuring patient comfort.
Pre- and Post-Operative Care: Conduct pre-operative assessments, prepare patients for surgery, and manage post-operative recovery, including wound care and monitoring for complications.
Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about eye health, post-operative care instructions, medication regimens, and follow-up appointments.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including treatment plans, nursing notes, and medication administration logs.
Collaboration: Work closely with the multidisciplinary team, including doctors, optometrists, and administrative staff, to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.

Education: Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc Nursing).
Licensure: Valid registration with the Nursing Council of India.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical setting; experience in ophthalmic nursing is preferred.
Skills: Proficiency in patient care, surgical assistance, and use of ophthalmic equipment; strong communication and interpersonal skills.
