2. Agreeing a counseling contract to determine what will be covered in sessions including confidentiality issues.
3. Encouraging students to talk about issues they feel they cannot normally share with others.
4. Actively listening to students concerns and empathizing with their position.
5. Accepting without bias the issues raised by students helping students towards a deeper understanding of their concerns.
6. Helping students to make decisions and choices regarding possible ways forward.
7. Attending supervision and training courses.
8. Working to agreed targets in relation to admissions contact.
9. Keeping records and using reporting tools.
10. Responsible for providing educational guidance and assistance for students.
