A Territory Sales Manager (TSM) in the automobile industry is responsible for managing sales operations and achieving sales targets within an assigned geographic area. The TSM develops and implements sales strategies, leads a team of sales representatives, manages dealer relationships, analyzes market trends, and works to enhance profitability and market share.
Develop and implement sales strategies to meet or exceed territory targets.
Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly sales performance.
Set individual and team sales goals and ensure consistent achievement.
Recruit, onboard, and train sales representatives within the assigned region.
Mentor and motivate team members to drive performance and achieve KPIs.
Conduct regular field visits and sales training programs.
Build and maintain strong relationships with dealerships.
Improve dealership profitability and operational standards.
Address dealer issues promptly and ensure compliance with brand guidelines and company policies.
Conduct regular market surveys to understand trends and competitor activities.
Identify new business opportunities to grow territory market share.
Develop local marketing and sales activation strategies based on insights.
Track sales activities, analyze territory performance, and prepare regular reports for senior leadership.
Forecast demand and assist in inventory management for dealers.
Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
Assist dealers and sales reps in addressing customer inquiries and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
Collaborate with dealerships on vehicle financing, insurance, and accessories sales.
Support promotional activities, campaigns, and events in the territory.
Identify inefficiencies in the sales process and suggest improvements.
Implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency and customer experience.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
1-2 years of experience in automotive sales, dealer development, or territory management.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
Analytical mindset with proficiency in MS Office and CRM software.
