The Sales Manager - Agency Channel is a critical frontline supervisory role responsible for building and managing a team of Insurance Manager’s (IMs) & agents within a specific unit, reporting to the Unit Manager. This position focuses on recruiting potential IMs & agents, activating them to sell life insurance products (Traditional and ULIP), and driving the team to meet sales targets consistently. The Sales Manager provides leadership, mentoring, and training to ensure agent productivity and performance, contributing to the unit’s overall success and aligning with the goals set by the Unit Manager and Regional Head.
Identify and recruit potential advisors/sales associates (e.g., retired people, unemployed individuals, family members) to build a robust agency team.
Conduct recruitment activities such as outreach, interviews, and onboarding, ensuring a steady pipeline of new agents.
Activate new and existing agents by motivating them to sell at least one policy per month, ensuring consistent engagement.
Collaborate with the Unit Manager to implement activation strategies and tools that enhance agent participation.
Drive sales to achieve expected sales targets on a consistent basis through the team of advisors.
Motivate IMs & agents to achieve sales targets through regular engagement, incentives, and performance discussions.
Continuously review IMs & agent performance, identifying strengths and areas for improvement to enhance productivity.
Act as the primary point of contact for agents, addressing their concerns and aligning them with company objectives.
Monitor agent activities for compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., IRDAI guidelines) and company policies, reporting issues to the Unit Manager.
