This internship is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in Human Resources while working with a vibrant and diverse team in the technology sector. Over the course of the internship, you will be exposed to various facets of HR, including recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, performance management, and more.

Role and Responsibilities:
As an HR Intern, you will play an essential role in supporting the Human Resources team in their day-to-day activities, while also gaining insight into the broader HR function. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

  1. Recruitment and Talent Acquisition Support:

    • Assist in posting job openings on various job portals, social media platforms, and company websites.

    • Help in screening incoming resumes for eligibility and skills alignment.

    • Assist with the initial stages of the interview process by scheduling interviews, ensuring that all parties are informed of interview times, and facilitating virtual or in-person interviews.

    • Maintain a candidate tracking system to ensure that all applicants are properly documented and followed up on in a timely manner.

    • Coordinate communication between the hiring managers and candidates, ensuring a smooth process.

    • Participate in the creation and refinement of job descriptions to attract the right talent.

    • Assist in preparing interview kits and helping interview panels by providing necessary candidate information.

    • Support the HR team in performing initial background checks and reference checks for candidates.

  2. Onboarding Process:

    • Assist with the entire onboarding process for new hires, including preparing and ensuring all necessary documentation is completed prior to the start date.

    • Provide administrative support during orientation sessions, ensuring that new hires receive an introduction to company policies, culture, and key contacts.

    • Maintain the onboarding checklist to ensure new employees have everything they need for their first day.

    • Ensure smooth communication and coordination with the IT department for setting up systems and tools required for the new hires to be productive.

    • Help organize new hire welcome sessions and provide support in answering any questions new employees may have regarding their roles or the company.

  3. Employee Records and Database Maintenance:

    • Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee records and databases.

    • Update employee personal information, benefits enrollment forms, performance reviews, and other HR-related documents.

    • Ensure compliance with privacy and data protection regulations when managing employee data.

    • Assist in data entry and analysis for reporting purposes.

  4. Employee Engagement and Culture Initiatives:

    • Help the HR team plan and coordinate employee engagement activities such as team-building events, virtual sessions, and company-wide celebrations.

    • Provide administrative support in organizing regular meetings, feedback sessions, and fun employee activities.

    • Assist in gathering feedback from employees about engagement initiatives and suggest improvements based on the findings.

    • Support the organization of regular all-hands meetings, town halls, and informal social events designed to foster a collaborative and inclusive workplace.

  5. Training and Development Assistance:

    • Assist with organizing and scheduling training sessions for employees, both virtual and in-person.

    • Support in tracking attendance for training programs and maintaining training records.

    • Help with creating and organizing training materials such as presentations, handouts, and other resources for internal or external training programs.

    • Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of training programs by compiling feedback from participants.

  6. Payroll and Benefits Administration:

    • Provide support in the payroll process by ensuring that all employee time and attendance records are accurate.

    • Assist in benefits administration, including helping employees with queries regarding their benefits or assisting in benefit enrollments.

    • Help ensure that payroll information is submitted in a timely and accurate manner for all employees.

  7. Performance Management and Appraisals:

    • Support the HR team in coordinating employee performance appraisals, ensuring that all evaluations are completed on time.

    • Assist in tracking employee progress during performance review cycles and organizing meetings between employees and managers to discuss performance feedback.

    • Help prepare and distribute performance review forms and reports.

    • Assist in compiling feedback from employees and managers on the performance review process to improve the system for future cycles.

  8. General Administrative and HR Support:

    • Provide general administrative assistance to the HR team, including filing, organizing documents, and maintaining HR-related records.

    • Assist in preparing and maintaining various reports related to HR functions such as headcount, turnover, and recruitment metrics.

    • Help prepare HR communications, newsletters, and company announcements.

    • Assist with ad hoc HR projects and other duties as assigned by the HR Manager or Senior HR Specialist.

Key Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, we are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic individual with a passion for human resources. Ideal candidates will possess the following skills and qualifications:

  1. Educational Qualifications:

    • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.

    • Any relevant HR certifications or courses (such as SHRM, HRCI) are a plus but not required.

  2. Technical Skills:

    • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Familiarity with HRIS systems or other HR-related tools is a plus.

    • Comfortable learning and using new software and tools.

  3. Communication Skills:

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.

    • Ability to interact with internal stakeholders and external candidates in a professional and courteous manner.

    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.

    • Strong time-management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
