Job Description:
As a Field Engineer specializing in GPS and Fuel Sensor Installation, your primary responsibility will be to install, configure, and maintain GPS tracking systems and fuel sensors for various applications. You will work closely with clients, project managers, and technical teams to ensure successful implementation and functionality of the systems.
Responsibilities:
1. Installation and Configuration: Install and configure GPS tracking systems and fuel sensors on vehicles, machinery, or other assets according to project requirements and specifications.
2. Equipment Testing: Conduct thorough testing and verification of installed GPS and fuel sensor equipment to ensure accurate data transmission and functionality.
3. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to GPS systems and fuel sensors, both on-site and remotely. This may involve troubleshooting hardware, software, or connectivity problems.
4. Maintenance and Upgrades: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including software updates, equipment calibration, and system checks to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
5. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of installation details, configuration settings, troubleshooting steps, and maintenance activities. Prepare comprehensive reports and documentation for internal and client use.
6. Client Interaction: Interact with clients to understand their specific requirements, provide technical support, and offer guidance on system operation and best practices.
7. Training and Support: Provide training and technical support to clients and end-users on system operation, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting techniques.
8. Collaboration: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to coordinate installation schedules, resolve technical issues, and ensure project milestones are met.
9. Quality Assurance: Adhere to quality and safety standards during installation and maintenance activities to ensure compliance with industry regulations.
10. Industry Knowledge: Stay updated with industry trends, new technologies, and advancements in GPS tracking systems and fuel sensors to provide recommendations for system improvements and optimizations.
Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree or ITI in Electrical Engineering, or Electricals related field (or equivalent work experience)
· Previous experience in GPS installation, configuration, and troubleshooting is highly preferred.
· Familiarity with fuel sensors and their integration with GPS systems is an advantage.
· Proficiency in reading technical documentation, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
· Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or in a team.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients and project stakeholders.
· Ability to work in various environments, including outdoor settings and potentially remote locations.
· Flexibility to travel frequently to client sites as per project requirements.
· Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
