Technician

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Audio-Video Installer to work on the installation and setup of audio and video systems for auditorium settings. This role involves installing complex AV systems for large venues such as auditoriums, theaters, conference halls, and other similar spaces. The installer will be responsible for the complete setup, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of sophisticated AV equipment to ensure optimal sound and visual performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• System Installation: Install and set up audio and video equipment in auditorium settings, including sound systems, projectors, screens, LED displays, microphones, mixers, amplifiers, and speakers.

• Wiring and Integration: Perform wiring and integration of AV equipment, ensuring proper connections, power distribution, and cabling for audio and video systems.

• Equipment Testing and Calibration: Test the installed systems to ensure proper functionality. Calibrate and tune audio equipment (e.g., equalizers, amplifiers, speakers) to achieve optimal sound quality for large spaces.

• Troubleshooting: Identify, diagnose, and resolve any issues related to the AV systems. Ensure minimal downtime during installation and set-up.

• AV System Configuration: Configure and adjust AV equipment to meet specific needs for various types of events such as conferences, performances, and screenings.

• Project Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, designers, and clients to ensure systems are installed per specifications, on schedule, and meet customer expectations.

• Documentation: Maintain proper documentation of installations, including wiring diagrams, equipment lists, and system configurations for future reference and troubleshooting.

• Client Training: Provide client training on the operation of installed systems, ensuring they can confidently use and operate all equipment.

• Maintenance Support: Offer ongoing maintenance services for the installed AV systems, including performing regular checks, updates, and necessary repairs to ensure long-term functionality.

• Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety guidelines and industry standards while installing, wiring, and testing AV equipment, especially when working in large spaces like auditoriums.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; certifications in electronics, audio-visual technology, or a related field are a plus.

• Proven experience in the installation and setup of audio-video systems in large venues, particularly auditoriums or theaters.

• Strong technical knowledge of professional AV equipment, including sound systems (speakers, amplifiers, mixers), projection systems, video walls, and lighting systems.

• Familiarity with wiring, cabling, and networking requirements for large-scale audio and video setups.

• Experience with system calibration for acoustics and video to ensure high-quality performance in large spaces.

• Knowledge of audio and video signal flow, distribution, and integration techniques for complex AV systems.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals for AV systems.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues efficiently.

• Strong communication skills to work effectively with clients and team members.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with audio-video control systems (e.g., Crestron, AMX, Extron) for auditorium setups.

• Knowledge of digital signage systems and video conferencing solutions.

• Certifications in AV technologies (e.g., AVIXA CTS, CEDIA) are a plus.

• Familiarity with acoustic treatment and soundproofing for large venues.

• Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in physically demanding environments.
