The Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, organization, and efficiency in assigned areas, such as a dining area, kitchen, event space, or cabin, depending on the setting. They support the preparation, service, and cleanup of food and beverages, ensuring adherence to hygiene, safety, and quality standards to enhance customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Maintain Cleanliness:
Clean and sanitize tables, counters, and equipment.
Ensure dishwashing and waste disposal processes are completed according to sanitation guidelines.
Keep assigned areas neat, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
Assist with Service:
Set up and break down dining areas or event spaces as needed.
Serve food and beverages to guests, attending to their needs promptly.
Restock supplies, including cutlery, plates, and condiments, in designated areas.
Inventory and Stock Management:
Monitor inventory levels of supplies and communicate shortages.
Ensure proper storage and labeling of food, beverages, and cleaning supplies.
Safety and Hygiene Compliance:
Adhere to food safety, health, and hygiene standards.
Identify and report any safety or maintenance concerns to the supervisor.
Customer Service:
Greet and assist guests in a friendly and professional manner.
Respond to guest inquiries and address any issues promptly.
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient service.
Requirements
Education: High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
Experience: Prior experience in a hospitality or customer service role is beneficial.
Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices.
Physical Ability: Able to stand, walk, and lift objects as required for extended periods.
