Job Summary:

The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the movement of goods and materials from suppliers to customers, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and safety in the distribution process. The supervisor will manage a team of logistics staff and work closely with other departments to ensure timely delivery, optimal resource allocation, and cost-effective logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Management: Supervise and lead a team of logistics personnel, ensuring they are effectively performing their duties in line with company goals and standards.

• Inventory Control: Oversee inventory management, including maintaining accurate stock levels, proper storage, and timely replenishment of supplies.

• Transportation Coordination: Manage the transportation of goods, including coordinating deliveries, selecting transportation methods, and negotiating with carriers to secure the best rates.

• Scheduling: Develop and maintain delivery schedules, ensuring goods are delivered in a timely manner while minimizing delays or disruptions.

• Process Optimization: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of logistics operations.

• Compliance and Safety: Ensure all logistics operations comply with safety standards, regulations, and company policies. Maintain records and reports to demonstrate compliance.

• Problem Solving: Address and resolve any logistics-related issues, including delays, damages, or inventory discrepancies.

• Customer Service: Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by overseeing the timely and accurate delivery of goods. Address customer complaints or concerns related to logistics.

• Budget Management: Monitor and control logistics costs, working to reduce inefficiencies and improve the cost-effectiveness of operations.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field (preferred).

• Experience: Proven experience in logistics or supply chain management, with at least [X] years in a supervisory role.

• Skills:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.

  • Proficiency in logistics software (e.g., WMS, TMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong understanding of supply chain and inventory management principles.

  • Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

• Certifications (optional): Certification in Logistics (e.g., CLTD, CSCP) is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and move items up to [weight] lbs.
