We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Payroll Manager to oversee all payroll activities within our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll processing, compliance with federal, state, and local laws, as well as HR and accounting practices. The Payroll Manager will ensure accurate, timely payroll delivery while maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements. This position requires the ability to manage a team, handle sensitive information, and be a trusted advisor on payroll and labor law matters.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Payroll Management:
o Oversee the preparation and processing of bi-weekly/monthly payroll for [number] employees across various departments.
o Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time, including salaries, wages, bonuses, deductions, and overtime.
o Monitor the payroll system for accuracy, ensuring all data is entered correctly, and resolve discrepancies promptly.

o Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all federal, state, and local labor laws and tax regulations, requirements.
o Stay up-to-date with changes in employment laws, tax regulations, and industry standards to ensure payroll practices remain compliant.
o Review payroll processes to ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, including exemptions, overtime calculations, and tax withholdings.
o Manage audits, including internal audits and external government audits related to payroll.
3. Team Leadership:
o Lead and supervise the payroll team, providing training, guidance, and performance feedback.
o Develop and implement payroll processes and improvements, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in operations.
o Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll inquiries from employees and management.
4. Benefits and Deductions:
o Administer benefits-related payroll deductions (e.g., healthcare, retirement plans, garnishments, child support, etc.).
o Ensure accurate processing and documentation of benefits-related information.
5. Employee Records and Confidentiality:
o Maintain confidential employee payroll records and related documents.
o Ensure compliance with data privacy laws and internal security protocols for handling sensitive payroll information.
6. Reporting and Documentation:
o Generate and analyze various payroll reports for management, including headcount reports, payroll cost reports, and tax compliance reports.
o Maintain accurate records of employee hours, overtime, leave, and other payroll-related documentation.
